The Fort Worth Business Press went to print the first time in 1988, and in the years since, it has served as THE guide and tool in which to stay informed of local business news, events and trends.

Never, however, has it been more local or on more firm ground than October, 2001, when majority owner Richard L. Connor and a small group of minority investors from Fort Worth bought the paper.

Connor is a Fort Worth resident, the first publisher to be so. He is a 17-year resident of the area, and for more than a decade was the publisher of the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Because of Connor's established roots in news and newspapering, and his efforts in so many areas of the community's arts, cultural and western heritages, today's Fort Worth Business Press has a distinct hometown feel that goes beyond the traditional business coverage. Coverage includes the arts, lifestyle trends, luxury homes and autos, dining and ...fine business news and features, of course.

The effect has been a warm welcome from Fort Worth and Tarrant County business readers. In a short time, subscriptions have increased from 6,000 to 9,500, and readership from 34,000 to 47,500.

The Fort Worth Business Press does more than provide news and insight to its readers. Our business is informing, aiding and helping to build business in the communities we serve.

We believe in celebrating the business people and events in our community. These celebrations recognize the good news in the community: the good people, the kind acts, the good business, and those who lead a city and county to make us proud of who we are and where we live. It is part of our mission to help create unity, build community pride and coalesce divergent groups.

It is a mission and a commitment we take seriously.
