Education

Nina Petty named TCC vice chancellor for real

estate and facilities

Her position: Nina Petty, a veteran real estate executive, has been named vice chancellor for real estate and facilities for the Tarrant County College District.

Her background: During her 25 year career, Petty has been in senior positions at CB Richard Ellis, RadioShack Corp. and, most recently, Innovative Developers Inc. During her tenure at RadioShack, she was executive in charge of the company’s successful efforts to plan and construct a new campus in downtown Fort Worth. The campus was sold to the college district in 2008.

Petty is assuming the position previously held by David Wells, who is returning to the academic side of the college and will serve as vice chancellor who will oversee all academic programs.  a member of

Gary Walker with SCM Real Estate Services has been re-appointed to the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors Board of Directors for 2010.

The Greater Fort Worth Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America announced its 2010 Board of Directors. Pete Chambers, chairman and CEO of Diamond H Recognition was named a 2010 Superstar by HRO Today Magazine.

The North Texas Roofing Contractors Association presented its 2010 Golden Hammer Awards. Community Service Projects winners are: KPost Co. for the Beautiful Feet Ministries and Bert Roofing Inc., Pitts Roofing Company Inc. and HEC Roofing Co. for their work with the NFL Retired Players Association. Commercial Contractors winners are: Supreme Systems Inc. for its work with Bureau of Engraving & Printing; Castro Roofing of Texas LP for its work done on Hall of State; and KPost Co. for its project with Reunion Tower. Residential Contractors winners are: Texas Tile Roofing for its work with Ultimate Green Friendly Roof and Pitts Roofing Company Inc. for its Vogt re-roofing project.

Key Construction was presented three Excellence in Construction awards from TEXO: Museum Place Office Building won in the Commercial $5 - $10 Million Category, the USTC Mark IV Truck Center won in the Industrial: Less Than $5 Million Category and The Beat Condominiums won in the Residential: Multi-Family & Condominium Category.

The Grand Hyatt DFW, has been named No. 5 on the Top 25 Hotels in the United States list in the 2010 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.

The Small Business Commerce Association announced that Ron Houston Renovations has been selected for the 2009 Best of Business Award in the Single-family housing construction category.

Kristy Libotte Keener, graphic design coordinator for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, won a gold Davey Award for Graphic Design.

Calloway’s Nursery won Lawn and Garden Retailer Magazine’s 2009 Merchandiser of the Year Award by receiving the most votes out of four finalists in December.
