Vicki Rodriquez has been named a Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) through the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas.

 

Boards & organizations

The Arlington Life Shelter expanded its board of directors to include Carolyn Casselberry, Lisa Cravens, Sherry Easley-Charles, Russ Greene, Roy Haskins, John Kord, Mike McCoy, Bo Nash, Larry Olive, John Ramon, Zeb Strong, Lauren Tune, Frank Vaughn and Gigi Westerman. Officers are: Bob Brunskill as president, Sanjay Rajguru as vice president of evaluation and planning, Gary Hardee as vice president of fund development, Patsy Miller as vice president of volunteer development, Joe Castano as treasurer and Barbara Boma as secretary.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth elected Robert J. Mitchell to the board of governors. New officers to the board of directorsÂ’ executive committee are LeAnn Behrens, John Broude, Randy Phillips and Rusty Reid. In addition, the organization voted Walter Littlejohn as chair-elect.

Denise Roberts has been selected to serve on the board of directors of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Denton County.

Fort Worth South Inc. elected the following corporate officers for 2005: Bruce Davis as chairman, Ben Loughry as vice chairman, Cee Yager as treasurer and Mary Kathryn Anderson as secretary. New members of the board of directors are: Jill Black, Steve Dutton, Laura Hunt, David Lee, Bobby Mays, Jack Thompson, Dennis Weverka and Cheryl White.

Kurt Kasson has been elected president of the North Texas Chapter of the International Code Council Delegates.

Sal Adamski was recently elected chairman for the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, a national professional association specializing in workforce and economic development.

The Ronald McDonald House appointed Myke Holt as executive director, effective Feb. 20.

Preston A. Miller was named to the TCU M.J. Neeley School of Business International Board of Visitors.

 

Education

Penny Benz joins Keller Independent School District as the assistant superintendent of human resources. In addition, Janet Travis has been selected as principal of the new Keller ISD elementary school opening this fall to serve families in the Hidden Lakes and Shady Grove portions of the district.

 

Energy

Energy Transfer Partners L.P., a publicly traded partnership owning and operating a diversified portfolio of energy assets, named Marshall S. “Mackie” McCrea III as president of midstream operations and R.C. Mills as president of propane operations.

 

Government

Becky Null, deputy city secretary with the city of Euless, completed her required professional education for recertification as a Registered Texas Municipal Clerk.

 

Health care

Prateek Chaudhary, a student at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, will be honored in March with a 2005 American Medical Association Foundation Leadership Award. The award is presented annually to medical students, residents/fellows, young physicians and international medical graduate physicians who show strong leadership skills in advocacy, community service and education.

Nursefinders Inc. hired Kathleen Gilmartin to fill the newly created position of COO patient care services. She will be responsible for all patient care operations nationwide and will assist with business development of local, regional and national accounts.

Robert S. Shapard has been named Tenet Healthcare CorporationÂ’s chief financial officer.

 

Honored

Office Depot selected Dallas business executive, Wendy Lopez, for the 2005 Office Depot “Businesswoman of the Year” award.

Wendy Shabay has been named Young Professional of the Year by the Fort Worth Chapter of The American Institute of Architects.

For its excellent customer service, Crescent Real Estate Equities Company has been awarded the National Commercial Real Estate Customer Service Award for Excellence. The awards recognize companies who are committed to providing the highest level and quality of service to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction. For four years running, customers of Crescent properties ranked the companyÂ’s customer service and management in the highest percentile of the commercial real estate industry in the United States.

The members of the Keller High School Academic Decathlon team won first place in the state competition in Corpus Christi. Keller took home 22 team medals and 28 individual event medals from the large school division and placed third overall in the Super Quiz event.

Pier 1 Imports, RadioShack Corp., the Southlake Carroll High School football team and WillieÂ’s Picnic have been named winners of The Advertising Club of Fort WorthÂ’s 2004 Dateline Award. The Dateline Award is presented in recognition of positive publicity generated for Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth has been selected as one of the winners of the 2005 Hospital of Choice Awards, presented by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers. Plaza is the only hospital in the state of Texas to be given this distinction.

Veronica Chavez Law joined Decker, Jones law firm as a senior associate, where she will serve in the real estate, banking and commercial transactions practice group.

The Fort Worth Cats has promoted four front office employees to vice president positions. They are Monty Clegg as senior vice president and general manager, Mark Presswood as senior vice president for business development, Kevin Forrester as vice president for marketing and administration, and John Bilbow as vice president for corporate sales and sponsorships.

Verizon Wireless has named Keith Ables district manager for its Dallas/Fort Worth West District and Anna Bailey as national accounts manager, headquartered in Lewisville.
