SDI names Top 100 list
SDI, a health care data firm based in Pennsylvania, named three local health care systems to its Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks 2009 list.
SDI has been tracking integrated health care systems since 1994, and its listing takes into account attributes in eight categories: physicians, integration, financial stability, services and access, contract capabilities, outpatient utilization, integrated technology and hospital utilization.
Baylor Health Care System, based in Dallas, was ranked 41 on the Top 100 list, and the JPS Health Network in Fort Worth was listed as No. 56. Cook ChildrenÂ’s Health Care System was the third local health care network to be included in the list, and they were ranked as No. 63. Cook ChildrenÂ’s was the only exclusively pediatric network to be named to the list.
Faith Community Leadership Summit
Texas Health Resources and the Texas Health Harris Methodist Department of Pastoral Care will sponsor its Faith Community Leadership Summit on Feb. 24 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
The event, which starts at 8 a.m. at the Round Up Inn, is for faith leaders and lay leaders, to share their best practices, provide resources and participate in various seminars, including ones with topics focusing on mental illness, addictions, and renewal for caregivers.

Health Science Center to host workshop
The UNT Health Science CenterÂ’s Center for Community Health will be hosting a workshop about preconception and interconception health from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Oak Hall Room at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens.
The workshop, called “Before, Beyond and Between Pregnancy: Understanding Preconception and Interconception Health,” will feature several speakers and is free of charge (except to those who want to earn continuing education credits) and open to anyone interested in the health practices. For physicians, nurses, social workers or others who wish to earn continuing education credits, the fee is $10.
